I'm headed off to Bowling Green today to clean out the intakes a bit. LOL I finished installing the rear in the '01 thanks to Tom Jr's help last night, and the GT is dying to be pounded so I get to bring 2 cars to run today.
All in all, not a good day at the track. It was really packed, but got to see some awesome Mustangs. Tom Jr waited as long as 2 hrs to run the GT. I was ready to stick a pencil in my eye just to relieve the pain.
Best runs of the day were:
'01 V6 14.95 By me(not bad for stock)
'86 GT 14.08 By me(damn thing still needs some work)
'84 Mustang 9.67 By Gearhead(all motor BTW, it's just a sick car in general)
Tom Jr ran both too, but only the '01 once. He kind of has taken a liking to the '86.......
Meagan, my daughter, cooked hot dogs and smoked sausages for all of us.

im confused, you say your '01 v6 is stock but in your sig it says "lots of stuff". Just wondering about that, because my car does 0-100 in 15.1 which would be a little bit longer than a 1/4 mile so I'm right around you which is either good (if you're car IS modded) and bad (if your car's stock) haha

I'll place a $100 spot on the fact that the old man could outdrive you on the track
My car has lots of stuff, but not internally. Performance mods include CAI, dual exhaust, and SCT. this is also including the custom built sub box, which is not removable, and amp in the trunk. I run it as if it was being run on the street......
All in all, there is lots of stuff in it, but I couldn't put it into my sig. because my list of Mustangs has limited me my list of mods.

1/4 mile in the same car? Yes. 1/4 mile my car vs. his? It'd be close, but he'd probably fair better because he has a manual.

You've got to have more performance mods than that! Especially on your '01. For some reason I'm thinking that you have made threads before about some of the other performance stuff you've done.
But anywho, I guess I'm doing fairly well, I'm relatively even with a split port car and mines single! Split Port Intake Manifold's on it's way hehe

The single port can make more power... but I'm not telling how
Driver vs. Driver he wins... didn't your dad teach you that they are always right? I know my dad did....
haha, on the 1/4 mile he'd win because I'm not use to just driving a straight line. I race 125cc go-karts in my area for the SDKA as well as raced a formula ford twice (I got lucky because my uncle actually knew the owner of the Formula Ford team). So long story short, driver vs. driver on a road course, I'd know how to handle it better UNLESS Shiner has had some previous road course experience along the same lines or better haha

That's fine, it's probably even more of a pain in the butt than a Split Port Swap
haha, true. But you for got to add in the human element of stupidity.
Forgetting to do stuff that is pivotal to finishing the job even though you know what you're doing, is an example.
Double and triple and quadrupal check are my best friends haha.
But anywho, I have no idea what I'm in for quite yet with the Split Port, just because of the fact that my parts haven't arrived yet haha. As soon as I mound up all of my parts and assess the situation, I'll do a mock installation and actually figure out what needs to be done and how it needs to be done.

Assembly and disassembly are the easy part in automotive. The challenge is knowing how to modify parts to make power.... if you want to be sucesful in this as a career, you better learn as much as you can, as quick as you can.
Just a friendly word of advice.
Suprisingly, I've yet to fvck up on any part at my job... I figured one of my tired nights I'd do something stupid, but I haven't yet
definitely! it's all about power but at the same time, it's about how it mixes with fuel economy....but yeah, I'm learning from everything I've done, doing, or am going to do already
You truly are a lucky man for not screwing up haha. I've made a couple of mistakes already at my job at Classic Mustang, luckily I was able to fix them but still, it's just that fear of knowing CRAP, if my boss sees this I'm screwed haha.
