I was planning on getting my windows tinted this weekend and was just wondering what percent tint is actually legal and how much would it cost.

25% on driver side/passenger side/rear passenger windows. You are allowed any darkness on the rear window-..but most cops really wont stop you..tints with life time gurantee usualy go for around 120$..thats how much it was when i went to check in a shop ..iam gona get 5% on mines..becuase i usualy drive with my windows down anyway..your choice

% will be different from state to state. Here in Ny it's 35% on older cars and 75% on newer cars which is basically nothing. I'm not sure what year the % change is at though, and your looking at between $150 and $200

This is probably a dumb question, but is film the only way to tint windows. I thought they used like some machine of some sort.
