anyone got a clue as to what it would take to get a 02 mustang drifting???

i drift in my 02,no problems.just pitch it,lots of gas peddle,little brake,and give it heck!

I sure hope it's manual.. lol

What you can do is:

2nd gear.
Go to your powerband
Get your turn started, and when you feel the back of the car start to follow the front (it happens decently fast :P) let her rip!

MAKE SURE Traction Control is OFF! haha.

I find it easiest in the power band, but you can clutch kick it, brake in the turn to get the weight on the front then let it rip, e-brake it, etc..

The easiest on the car would be just powerband it..

There are 3 MAJOR things you have to take care of

1) chassis/suspension flex

2) power adder

3) the front wheel slip angle

the third one is the b**** of it all. I don't know if anyone has found a bolt on solution, but you can't really ge enough slip angle to do a pro job. American roads don't require it.

I don't think he is going to be doing a pro job, so the slip angle should be fine...



But yeah... Make sure you don't go out on the public roads and do it, and if you do make sure there is no traffic.. It's super easy to lose control in these cars with the lack of the grip on the front wheels (all cars, but since we are in Mustangs, then why not talk about them :P)

yeah, definitely swap in a Cobra IRS. The rest is standard. Rear sway, upgrade shocks/struts/bushings/motor/transmission mounts.

Get goin like thirty in third gear and turn while dropping it into 2nd and give it he!! youll almost spin out but u can ride it as long as the momentum keeps up. On a side not be carefull of over reving, also look out for other and dont get caught. It is not worth it for a reckless driving ticket.

I don't know of one - My only suggestion is to contact Mustang Enthusiast, as they were building a Drift 99-04 car. Ask 'em for an update . .
