i personally think its about that time for you to change the oil.. i change mine every 2500 to 3000 miles and use 5w-30.. and if anything from what i've heard synthetic is the way to go.. at least thats my way

I'd run some seafoam if you havent done it yet. Oil is oil, just dont buy cheap stuff, full synthetic is the best you can buy.

It's really easy. Pour 1/3 into a 1/2-full gas tank, 1/3 into the crank case(where you fill up the oil) and 1/3 into the brake booster while the car is running (it's big black cyclinder looking box that has a hose infront of it that connects to your upper intake manifold) as soon as you finish doing that, turn the car off for 5 minutes and then start it up and if your intake/whatever is dirty you should get a smoke show. Also if any of the white smoke comes out anywhere before the exit of the exhaust you probably have some kind small exhaust leak or something.

Mobil 1 is my brand too, I just used sea foam its awesome stuff, i think i took care of any flys still alive around my house by using it too
I have used Engine Restorer and Rislone engine treatment in my truck with 150k on it and that stuff works awesome, helps with excessive lifter noise and with burn off, combined with the Mobil 1 that thing still runs great.

if you can turn a wrench, you can do it yourself. takes minimal to no skill at all. Just make sure you don't strip the drain plug and you'll be fine. If you're going to replace the Oil Filter as well, go out and buy yourself a Oil Filter Wrench for around $10-$20. They are absolutely INVALUABLE when it comes to removing the filter. Trust me, most people use channel locks to remove the filter, that is doing more harm than good.

I just use a screwdriver when it's overtightened!

Punch it and turn!
