hey im new and am thinking about putting some underdrive pulleys on my car...who makes the best and what would you suggest?

I have used BBKs aluminum UDs without any problems.

i have bbk's... they are ok but gave me some issues in the beginning. aluminum is very soft so the pulleys were scored and broke the seal on my front crank and i had an oil leak forever and it was a ***** to fix.

had i got the steeda steel ones, it would never have happened.

Uds are in my opinion, are not that good. Because unless you are ruuning a s/c or turbo, the Ud pully set will not add that many hp. Another problem with aftermarket pullies is that they can be out of proper balance. Their is only so much play in the bearings, before they blow. I really thought at first that it would be a good upgrade but then found out from a guy that i work with, its not. Same thing goes with a tb spacer=useless, maybe possible degree chance( colder tb).

Steeda makes good stuff. They use their pulleys on their turnkey cars that come with warranties and claim in their website that they work with Ford in a SEMA transfer program to make their pulleys balanced for each application. I am gonna get Steeda pulleys for my 05 when I start to mod it.

That said, I've put 140K on my underdrivers with no problems whatsoever, (total 166K) and bang for buck ratio is very good.

Don't go for cheap E-bay stuff and you'll be fine.
