Default 1999/2000 Mustang V-6

I'm new to here, trying to learn more about cars as I'm going along, but I had a question. I'm trying to save up to get a '99-'04 Mustang, V-6. It'll most likely be a '99 or '00, and I'm wondering what the engine life is on the car. Most of the ones that I can find for sale are at at least 100K miles...1 or 2 under 100K, a few at around 100K and then more at around 130K or so. I'd like to keep the car for a good number of years at least, but was wondering what on avg. they do last (with routine maintenance). Or what would I have to look at for a new transmission? Thanks for any help.

it all depends on how well the previous owner(s) took care of it.

my dad had a 95 v6 and put 180k miles on it and it was still running perfect till i blew up the motor a couple years back lol

it has a new motor in it now but had i not done that im sure it would have gone well into the 200k range.

it all just depends.. .and every car will wear differently

CobraBoy said it right. I have a 2000 V6 vert that was very well taken care of by the previous owner. She runs like new, check to see if the previous owner has maintanence logs. The guy who owned mine kept very good records, and even had the reciepts for warrenty purposes. I am very happy with my purchase.
