Default my new idea for my mustang

before you lock my thread, kill me, etc. hear me out

im thinking about doing a V8 swap over the summer from a donar car
i think it would be a fun project to do, and yes, i will have other cars to use to run for parts if im missing any.
i am thinking about getting a 94-95 5.0, or a 96-98 4.6,which would be better, im thinking the 5.0,and i dont have a good reason why(i can think of some bad ones, like, i like the number 5, 5.0 sounds cool, etc )
but quick question, how much harder would it be to use a 99+ as a donar car, since things were changed around

first of all...

if you have a donor car. do it. and do the 4.6.

the modular engines are better than the 50's for many reasons. 1 being they are way more durable and the gains you will see from a 2v v8 will be more than the 5.slow

you will need EVERYTHING from either of the donors. computers, wiring, rear end... you will be able to take everything yes?

if you cant things will get expensive really quick

whatever year/gen of mustang you use you will need the computer and wiring harnesses from that same year pretty much.
like if you use an 02 gt motor you will not be able to use the wiring, computer ect ect or even tranny from a 96 gt

look for whatever year engine you want.

either way you will have to change out EVERYTHING from the donor car.

i would personally go for a late 2001 and up to 2004 gt engine as they were the best performing of all the gt motors until 2005

Does not matter at all. As long as you take the cobra motor, cobra trans, cobra wiring/wiring harnesses, and cobra ECU you're golden.

SN95 Termie.... sounds like if it works, you're going to be in a magazine hah. Good luck finding a wrecked '03-'04 cobra around our area though... cobras are hard to come by as it is.

you forgot to add...

cobra tranny
cobra diff
cobra motor mounts
cobra suspension
new gauges

basically when you switch any mustang v8 engine into your mustang you will need a donor car or you will need a whole lot of money to buy other parts to go along with it.

If you want the weight of that heavy 4v why not just get a fox with a 351?

and when gas hit 3-5.00 bucks a gallon a V8 swap is smart how?
