Default 1997 Mustang V6 Supercharged?

Hey everyone I am thinking about putting a supercharger on my 1997 mustang v6 soon and I am wondering if it will really improve my car much or be able to beat a gt. If it would would improve my car's performance a good deal how much money will i need to do these improvements and what is a good site to get a good and cheap supercharger from? Thanks

Cheap doesn't go with the word supercharger, unless you can find one used.

You will need at the least upgraded fuel pump and injectors.

what's cheap for you? i got a used kit on ebay for about $1300 and after all missing parts were bought i spent a total of about $1600. it was a Vortech S-trim and I dynoed with no tune at 203 RWHP on a stock motor.

What mods (if any) do you have now? is it an auto or a stick?

The Vortech that ninetysix has would be a good system for you as well.

No, I'm saving up for an Xcal2 from VMP Tuning but I probably won't dyno it again until I make another huge mod.

Wait so you installed the Vortech but didn't do any tuning?
Not only are you missing out on some power but it is kinda risky to run boost w/o tuning to it.

Did you not upgrade your injectors? How much boost are you running?

its an auto, the only upgrades it has is some ford racing spark plugs and a dual exhaust. I'm planning on getting a used one but I'm not really sure which ones are good.

Vortech and Procharger are your best options for an S/C. Most places sell them in kits so you have everything you need, but if you buy used then you will likely have to do some parts hunting. If the S/C is the only thing you are doing then all the other stock componets should work fine, but it would be wise to also look into a t-lok, sub-frame connectors, and maybe a GT rear sway bar.

haha...I've been busy with school. I didn't work much for a while and that was when I was on the forums. But now that I don't work as much, when I actually do come in to work there's too much stuff to do. I'm only in on weekends now until the semester is over. then I'll probably stop by until I get all my stuff caught up.
