While I am not too familiar with exhaust for the 2000+ models, or headers. Here is a clip of a 3.8 exhaust, headers and cammed. It sounds nasty bro, might want to check it out here. Long Tube Headers, no cats, and flowmaster Super 40's. Might give you and idea how nasty you can make your ride sound.

Exhaust sounds are based on preference. Listen to some clips on youtube to decide. We all have different opinions.

Stay away from headers until you have forced induction.

the reason his car is so loud is because he took off his cats...the flowmaster 40s wont be nearly that loud or throaty with the cats on..but if you take them off your in danger of making your car sound like a fart wagon....

If your going to go dual exhaust dont get the Y-pipe...go with either an H pipe or an X pipe..those you have two pipes actually coming out directly from the manifolds the Y pipe is only one...and only go with 2.5 inch pipes if your planning on getting a Power adder down the road

My set up is flowmaster 40's with an H-pipe, 2.25 piping, kept the cats on and went with 3.5 inch tips. I also had the bumper cut to fit the exhaust pipes up into..makes it look a lot better IMO than hanging below it and I rarely scrape...
