According to my math, if his car is stock and with your few mods, the P/W is about even at 15# / HP. If he has an AOD you might have a slight advantage at the wheels. You have a very small advantage with torque.

Pretty even match.

I don't like even matches.

What if he adds upgrades like yours? The balance could easily shift to his favor.

Since a bet is involved, make it contingent on the current state of tune and equipment present in both cars.

Practice power shifting and driving. Take a trip to the track beforehand if you can.

More races are lost by drivers than by cars.

I agree with this, i dont like even matches usually either, leaves too much room for minor errors losing you money, deffinately make it clear that the race is to be done with the cars as is, and do some practicing.

If you can drive, you shouldn't have a problem staying ahead.

agreed, it is easy to make a mistake with the 5 speed especially if you are out of practice.

Sometimes no matter how much practice you have, it's easy to miss a gear. It just happens...... I think you can take him pretty easily......

Don't forget to lighten your car up. Spare tire, jack, minimal amount of gas in tank, etc.....

You gotta feather the clutch on it. My best 60ft times are when I'm feathering the clutch at the track and I have a t-lock.....

Tq is pretty close. He may have you by 10-15, but you can easily make that up with weight.

Default Tires

Drop your pressure in your rear tires to about 22pounds. This is just an estimate (your car is lighter than mine, so I won't pretend to have experience with your exact situation). This will help you get more dig off the line. DO NOT drop your tire pressure too far - you'll just break the bead loose.
