Default Should Girlfriend buy a 2001 Convertable Mustang V6 or 2004?

Ok, so my Girlfriend is dead set on a 2004 convertible v6. But I was wondering if the 2001 and the 2004 are the same car, or if Ford made any minor/major changes between the model years. I guess I'm wondering if the extra $5000 is worth it. What about in 5 years if she deceides to sell it, will the one with the 40th Aniversery badge hold its value more so than the 2001?

IMO, $5,000 is worth having a car that is 3 years younger. She will be less likely to have any major work nessecary to be done to the 2004 which means less money spent on repairs and less down time. And less agrivation is always worth it IMO

I believe they are the same car minus the badging...My car is a 99 and it says 35th anniversary and I'm not sure it adds much if any value to collectors

The '04 will hold its' value better when she goes to sell it strictly by age. It depends on what she wants to do with it in the future. They are basically the same car.

no difference in the motor at all but I do believe the 04's came with a different ECM.

The woman we bought my car from, claimed that it was a 35th anniversary limited edition...which made no sense at the time beacuse i didn't believe there were any with V6's. Sure enough when we got out there and looked at it, there were no honeycomb pieces on the tunk lid, or anything else to indicate it was an anniversary edition besides the badge...which all 99's had. After that we made her knock the price down to $4500, and everything was right in the world . So I doubt the badge would make a difference. Sorry for the length, first post, wanted to make it nice.
