Hmm I've heard so much about this Sea Foam. I have friends that use it in their cobras and camaros, but I'm still hesitant to put it in my 93 5.0 with 186k miles. I went and bought a can today, I think I'm going to give in and give it a try. I don't doubt it working at all, but I'm nervous about it loosening up particles and debris and causing problems in my motor.

if your engine it's in a good conditions, don't worry about it

it will be fine

or you can use it only in the gas tank and the intake vaccum.... just for a try

if ur car has more or close to 200k miles dont do it. My stang had about 230k miles and i seafoamed it. It did its job but cleaned my motor so much that it took off the sludge off of my rod bearings and thus my engine locking up

best to do before because seafoam cleans the engine and all teh dirt and crap will be floating around in your oil and could potentially clog your oil filter if its bad enough.. its only recommended to drive max 150 miles with it in the oil

but, that's a good sign... no smoke, means a clean engine

I've heard many good things about seafoam, and I believe its overall a good product IF used correctly. However, I had terrible luck with that stuff last spring. A friend and I were using it to clean my engine. As we were reving my engine to burn it all out, my car threw a rod!! It had to completly replace the engine. So my advice from personal experience is: don't rev too hard with that stuff flowing through the engine it will dirty your oil and cause lubrication problems. After doing this, you will need to change your oil as well.

haha way to post the same thing twice. I really like seafoam and have had great luck with it. I've done it to my car twice and to several others. As long as you dont rev it and dont leave the oil in too long after doing it, you should be fine. Most people say to go for a "spirited drive" afterwards instead of free revving and dont drive more than 100 miles with it in your oil. It made my car run very smoothly and helped my gas mileage a little too. I love that stuff.

I bet you do love it! What Cincybird didn't mention however is that I trused him to use it on my 95 V6 and, as I already mentioned, it ultimately resulted in a destroyed engine. As a firebird owner, he laughed at the death of a mustang. I wouldn't trust this kid at all.
Well actually hes got an amazing car; its probably the best looking V6 firebird I've ever seen tho

if it did which i doubt youd have a case against seafoam more information is needed to head this warning

it works and does its job like it says

No, I'm not blaming everything on the actual product. I know many other people have been quite happy with it. I'm just saying there is the potential risk of something going wrong IF used incorrectly like I did. Seafoaming my car did in fact result in a blown engine; I don't appreciate being told that I'm lying about that. When my friend and I seafoamed my car, we reved the engine quite hard while in park to burn all the impurities out as directed to do. Basically, the engine just couldn't handle it.(by the way, the engine was in good condition, well maintained, and less than 90K) I was told by profession mechanics at a ford dealership that because the seafoam mixed with the oil, the lubrication properties of the oil were really diminished. Therefore, it caused the pistins to overheat resulting in severe damage and failure. So, was it entirly the seafoam's fault? No,but it certainly didn't help. Once again, don't get me wrong, I'm not here to bash a product, but to inform you guys on what happened.
