Smile FRPP Traction Lock Qs?
I'm about to do business with one of our fellow bretherens from AFM...

What's the difference between FRPP Traction Lock and Detroit TrueTrac?

They're both LSDs...so, what's the difference?

The detroit true trac will prob handle more power that you throw at it. (its stronger )

True, but for the everyday driver it is fine. I have them in all 3 of my cars although the '86 is an 8.8."

So...

Let's say I added these...

J-Mod, 4:10s, Intake Manifold Gasket, Screamin' Demon Coil, 42% Pulleys, o/r h pipes...

Is that so much power that I'm throwing at the FRPP LSD?

If I remember correctly, the 7.5in FRPP T-Lok is rated to 250hp. If you have plans to go higher, get an Auburn Gear LSD or Detroit. They are designed to handle more power than the FRPP.

I do plan to give hey more than 250 horses.

But for right now, I wouldn't think it'll hurt to just have there for a while.
