your gonna have some wangy sound no matter what you use,at different rpm's.good choices are the Flowmaster 40,Magnaflow,and others may suggest more.a set of big tips,3.5,4 in. will deepen the sound also.A x or h will also help.

X - won't help, it'll make the car raspy

H - might deepen it just a tad

Run divorced duals, with flow original 40s. And long tube headers will give you the best sound.

its basically 2 straight pipes that go from the cats back minus a x or h pipe.. so basically the 2 pipes are not connected in no way..

Default flowmaster

should not cost any more than that. Maybe even less, like around 415 to do a custom dual setup with and H pipe and flowmaster 40s, and large tailpipes.

I have the (2.25 in) flowmaster original 40s, H pipe, and large tail pipes and it sounds nice.

If you ran longtubes and no midpipe I wouldn't think you could pass emissions... But it does sound good

i have the flowmaster 40's with two straight pipes, it is loud and has a great deep tone to it, i paid 370 for my install, i got it done at a mom and pop shop instead of like carx or meinieke.

I made a dual 2 1/2 inch w/o cats with a H, twin flowmaster, from the headers but i made it shorties, just before the axle, and it makes a deep sound

A big smile when revs goes up

I have the 4.0 so I'm not sure what they would sound like on the 3.8, but I am totally pleased with the Pypes system with Street Pro mufflers.

Some sound clips and photos are on my Gotstang page:

http://www.gotstang.com/SOHCman

It has been mistaken for a V8 many times.

Cold idle is loud as hell... about 97dB... which kinda sucks for everyone else when I leave for work at 4:30 AM...
