Default Performance Plugs?

My car is not having great starts, usually it does, but evry now and then it takes about 4-5 seconds. I checked battery, and cleaned it and looked for corrosion. its all ok. I then looked at the spark plugs noticing it appears to have the same stock plugs with 40,000 miles on it. I dont know when the manual suggest replacing them, but i know they need to be replaced. SO my question is, should i simply just buy the same old stock Ford plugs? or go ahead and buy some high performance wires? and if i went ahead with the high performance spark plug wires, which ones would best suit my car?

Another question, how much of difference would there be with stock wires from high performance wires?

unless you plan on gettin a better ignition system, plugs wont really matter a whole lot.. O.E. replacement (autolite, motorcraft) will be just fine... as for wires you will do good will the replacements as well but there are better ones that have less resistance and are just a lil bigger to let it all thru. Ford 9MM wires are about $50 so its up to you there.. but if you're looking for HP, you can find more elsewhere first.

what uprgrades could i get for my ignition system, without costing alot, like no more then about 300$)

and as for the wires, what brand of high performance wires should i go with, i've heard people talk about replacing their plugs or wires, or whatever, something dealing with this, and they say they can tell a noticible difference, in the sound of the car and some performance gain. what would this be? I do not know alot about the ignition system..

An ignition box will boost the power output, but it doesnt help HP at all, I have yet to see a box, plugs, or wires that help performance, except for the instances where they were currently at their peak.. you have a long way from maxing your ignition.. so unless you wanna get one just for the rev-limiter like i did, it's not worth it.

The older your car gets, the more the ignition matters. after 70,000 miles you can regain as much as 5-10 percent based on more efficient combustion.

On newer vehicles, you MAY get 1-2% (not noticeable).

thanks, this helps , i decided im just going to put on regular new stock plugs and wires on, not worth the extra money to me right now for high performance anything with the ignition...
