Default 1995 Mustang 3.8L Oil Pan Leak

Hey all. Is there a simpler way to replace the oil pan gasket than what the Chilton's manual says? It says you gotta pull the motor up, and some other stuff out of the way in order to replace the oil pan gasket. How long before this gasket goes for good because I'm leaking 1 quart of oil every 3000 miles, which comes in less than 2 months for me. Am trying to keep from spending enormous amounts of money to keep this car running as I will be purchasing an 03 Mach 1 sometime in late May to early June.

Nope, no easy way to do it. The whole engine MUST come up enough to be able to have enough room to get in there to change it. Either that or drop the front suspension and engine cradle.

Are you sure it is not from the bottom of the timing cover by the crank?

We thought it was the rear main seal at first, but from the chilton's manual, we kinda think its the oil pan gasket pointing towards the rear of the car.
