Default 2000 Mustang 3.8 Dual Exhaust Advice?

Hi all,

I just got a 2000 V6 Auto and want to upgrade to dual exhaust and was looking for a bit of advice. I don't really have any HP goals, I am just looking for a nice, rich, deep sound.

I was hoping to get some advice as to the best cat-back dual system that would allow me to keep the stock cats and senors as the car needs to pass Emmisions.

Any thoughts?

back when I had my 2001 v6 auto the first thing i did was install a Mac cat-back. Not only was it one of the cheaper systems, but I thought it had the best sound out of all of the catbacks i came across on other v6's.

word of advice; if you do go with mac, make sure to purchase a GT-hanger kit and have it welded. I just bolted and clamped with the stuff they gave me and eventually they corroded and i had to get it welded anyway.

Thanks hockeymaniak88!

I looked at that system as well as a few others - it looks like the Mac system requires a lot of extras though (the GT conversion and new hangers). As long as it all fits in, sounds great and passes e-Tests, that's all I care about.

Thanks again!

i love my flowmaster 40's, wat some guys did on here was get the 2 mufflers, go to a exhuast shop, and tell the guys to fab up a custom setup, it doesnt cost usually all that much

and for a mellow non raspy umble, have then fab up an h pipe

I have a 96 V6 and I had a local (really great shop) build a custom true duel exhaust. They built the exhaust from the cats back. This included building a custom exhaust with an H-pipe and Flow master mufflers. This is the best sounding V6 I ever heard. If you are working from the cats back there should be no problems with emissions.

Look at the black Mustang in my profile gallery.
