+1 jgt...... Why would you want to take it off? Most do, but it's usually for track purposes. If you want to go faster, I would suggest getting the proper tires and inspect your drivetrain. Safety is the key, and you don't want something to go wrong at 120mph.......
Yea there really is no point until you have upgrades put in that will allow you to SAFELY go over 115. Removing the speed limiter is like removing your rev limiter. Your engine won't be happy running at 8000 RPM.
Mine is a '95 GT,and when I had it tuned, the tuner told me there was no speed limiter, only the rev limiter..I know it's a different computer and all,but the same thing still may apply (?)

Its sickening actually.
safety my ass. In my 2004 Arctic cat F7 stock i can do 119mph. My 05 V6 mustang does 115mph. neighbors honda civic does 130mph.
Im just going to go with a tuner and supercharger. OR just trade in the sixxxer for a eight.

Hey, never said "shoulda got a GT."
I like the V6. its just that is very limited to everything that does with HP or speed.

Just a question... why do you want to go over 115 anyways? Are you taking it to the track? And if so, can you actually get it over 115 in the distance you are driving on? Most folks take their Mustangs to a drag strip, not an oval or road track.
If it is to go over 115 on the streets or highway, the problem isn't the speed of the car, but the desires of the driver IMHO.

That's cool and all but "safety" was meant as in running your engine in a SAFE way, not exceeding its capabilities, blowing it up...

Well on the road-racing track, I will be racing with exotic cars that go down each straight at about 276kph. this would include corvettes, vipers, porsches, audi, Ford GT40's, and CAV GT40's, wimpy ferrari, and stupidly slow lambos. The only mustangs that can even keep up with the main pack, are mod-GTs, Saleen GTs, Roush GTs.
soo, I need to go faster. PLus, 115 mph isnt even "fast". .....
There will always be V6 mustangs, the GT V8 however is on its last few laps.
