Default 1995 V6 Mustang EFI Engine Troubles

I have never been to a Forum before so I don't know what I am doing.

Question; I have a 1995 Ford Mustang with 3.8 EFI that my son broke the timing chain. I have worked on a lot of cars and know what I am doing till I came to this one.

I have torn the upper down to have head job done, replaced the timing chain and gears. I am waiting on the heads and need to know how to stab this funky distributor that has no cap, just electronic connections.

I have #1 piston up but not sure what I have to do to get the gear turned the proper direction to stab the distributor. It has no cap so you can't point the rotor at #1 plug wire.

Please let me know what I should be looking for.

That is your cam position sensor. Just make sure you have your timing gears in the right position and you'll be fine......

I have the timing chains lined up correctly but do I have to have the distributor in a certain position before dropping it in?

You have a coilpack, not a distributor. Just put the CPS in, and it should work fine......
