lol, jk. no its probubly been tuned with a diablo or superchips or something simmilar by the previous owner and never changed back when sold. if you took it to the dealership for repairs they may change it back to factory spec on you so you might want to take care to not let then do that. especially if you like the way it runs tuned, the factory tune will make you cry.
I agree....... Going over that speed, you need to have certain things in order. Like proper safety equipment.

Man, I need a damn tuner.

It's so interesting how a modified car works.

alright ive had my mustang up to 115 it doesnt shut off it just goes there and then starts to go back down ive upgraded my air induction system and that wll ive done to it, it just makes it get up to spped faster the only most of u guys got to those sppeds were factory defaults and im not saying it a bad thing it a good thing but to go faster than 115 u need a chip if u dont upgrade that u can never go faster than the factory setting at least that my understanding of it and some years are faster than otheres mine 2003 so who knows but that how i look at it

From what I have experienced:

94-98 stock governor is set at 112 or 118. I am not sure I have been to the 115 mark on mine but I do have larger diameter tires as well so that could have thrown it off somewhat. Stock with the governor off they can hit about 125-127 but it takes them forever to get there. We did it in a friends car and it was not fun.

99-04 stock 116 or 118. With the governor off and stock they can do 132-134 or so but they also take forever to get there.

05+ stock with governor I believe is 118. Not for sure on the S197's though. With out the governor I have no idea what they can hit stock either.

Anyway, every model has a different rating. Also, what is the reason to get a stock or mildly modified V6 up past 120mph anyway? The tires and suspension in V6's are not built for those types of speeds. You can not trust the stock speedo gauge either. It is not completely accurate neither is the Tach.
