Default 2000 Mustang V6: Crack in my headers. Deciding on which setup.

Well I bought my headers and my exhaust set up used, I have a set of shortie headers with an H pipe running down, but my headers have a crack in them, and my exhaust was from a cali spec gt, with 6 cats... Now I need to decide what I want to do. I have quite a few options. I don't know if I want to install new longtube headers and a new 2.5 inch H pipe on to my current exhaust set up, or if I want to just repair my current set up. The old set up is really restrictive, so I want something more and I want to do the catless long tubes/ H pipe but I don't know if it is worth swapping out every time I need to do my emissions. The long tubes themselves are legal here, its just running no cats is not, but I really want to increase my power further. How much will the cats drain from my torque/ horsepower? Is it worth running catless? I use my car mainly for street and road racing, but occasionally strip. I don't mind it being illegal, I just don't know if running no cats is even worth the hastle of swapping out the old setup.

Who made the Headers? And, how big are they (diameter)?

Running long tube headers will never let you pass emissions. I wouldn't know how you're going to run an H-Pipe with cats on because you'll need O2 sensor extentions. Wow, what a setup you're going to have if you presumed with the long tubes.

It's really all up to you if you want to swap cats back and forth, for a cheap setup have someone weld your leaks on those headers.

On the decision to really open up your flow, go longtubes/catless midpipe. But that's on you man, and remember when you go catless...too much air-flow can lose your bottom-end torque.

I honestly don't know who the headers were made by but I know they are a 2" dia. In my state long tubes are emissions legal. I will have to weld cats on the H pipe my friend at the shop says. I don't want to lose my bottom end torque, because thats something my car is already lacking, but 6 cats is just too much for me. Mainly I want a true mustang sound out of my car not affected by mufflers or cats. Also I can install the cats after the h pipe so I wouldn't need any extensions for my o2 sensors. I would just fix my leak, but I think long tubes would be so fun! Am I looking at a significant bottom end loss?

.555/.579 lift and 218/224 duration I beleive and a shop in NY ported and polished, it was machined for oversized valves and a BBK Hi-Flo CAI with MotorVator spacer and a BBK 65mm throttlebody I know there is something else but I'm extrordinarilly tired and can't remember right now.

No, I really don't think you'll lose bottom end with your setup. your motor needs to breath.......

Well my bottom end is already semi lacking. I only hit good torque around 2500+ rpm before that its kinda whimpy. Will this be affected at all? I don't wanna have to drop the clutch from 5grand just to squeal the tires lol

You have moved the powerband up a bit with your motor and cam specs. This motor seems like it was built for a power adder more than anything. What
rods/pistons are you running?

Uh, well, when is the power adder going on? That TT kit on V6P would be great for your setup. Twin 57's.......

Its actually got a long way to go. I have no money and a TT kit for my car would be pretty expensive. I'm thinking until then, I may buy a used low milage, or a cheap new supercharger and puttting that on till I have money for TT's
