Default 2000 mustang led light effects wiring issue

i have a 2000 v6 coupe and i need to figure out how to wire the leds to the car. i dont know much about vehicle wiring and i was wondering if anyone knew of a place to add things to the electrical system. all ideas welcome thank you!

Do you have a switch for it? If you do, just run a wire to the fuse box, pull out one of your fuses, put the wire in one side, and jam the fuse back in. Presto, instant power. You can ground the other wire to one of the many screws under the dash. Just make sure the screw is attached to metal.

yeah got a switch from radio shack. but is this practice safe? i mean sticking the wire in the in an open fuse slot and jam the fuse back in
?
