there is no distributer cap, the plug wires are connected to individual coil modules. i think there on the top left side of the engine.....follow the wires.....

so- with a misfire code on cyl 3- would replacing wires and plugs sound like the right way to proceed? and then if not solved, coil pack?

How difficult is it to get to the plugs? Where is cyl 3?

Thanks, Jeff

I'm not sure which one is three off the top of my head, but the stock spark plug wires will have numbers marked on them. As long as they are stock just find number three. You could check first to make sure one of the wires just didn't come loose from the coil pack/plug, but if you have to change them they are relatively easy compared to most cars coming out today. That would be where I would start if everything is hooked up tight, it won't hurt anything and generally not too expensive. It may not hurt to throw fuel injector cleaner or sea foam to clean a little bit as well when you do this. To see how to use seafoam there is a sticky at the top of the list of threads at the "V6 Talk" section.

Default tune up in progress

So far, I have completed three drivers side plugs and wires- #4,5,6.
Used motorcraft- AGSF42FM- GAP AT .056- tourque to 110 In Lbs (9 ft lbs)
Wires- WR5978

STILL have code P303 misfire on cyl#3-
So- how do I get to #3- It looks like it is under the air intake-
and do you have a order of the cylinders on the pass side?

So far so good:
1) lossened old plug
2) removed by hand
3) installed antisieze
4) installed new plug by hand
5) tightened with tourque wrench.

Thanks, Jeff
