Default differential locking

i want to get a differential lock for v6 mustang since only one wheel spins. however i know you cant drive with both wheels locked at all times cause it will eat the tires and the wheels will be fighting each other. so, i was wondering if there is a kit out there where i can switch between the 2?

What you're looking for is a Limited Slip Dirrential. It comes stock on the V8 cars, N/A on the V6 cars.

You have two choices. 1. Take your car to a diff shop and have them do the install. That will cost $800-1,000. More if you want to change the gears to 3.55 or 3.73.

2. Buy a take off differential for about $800 (depending on ratio), and install it yourself.

Third choice would be to get a Richmond Gear "No-Slip" for $400 and do it yourself at home in a couple of hours.

I've never heard of that, could you link me to it please?

Can the traction control switch imply with the LSD?

The Richmond Gear unit has been covered in a couple of Mustang magazines. Simple to install, no gear set-up required. It replaces the spider gears with a toothed pair of gears. The "No-Slip" is a more street unit while the "Lock-Right" is for more aggressive driving. I've had mine on the DD for over 35,000 miles and just bought another for the project Ranger V-8 swap.
