Exclamation 1994 Mustang with odd headlight problem

I have a 1994 mustang thats experiencing the oddest problem with the headlights. Not sure when it started but so first noticed it last week. The the issue is re the headlights flash on and off at will it started off with about 10-15 seconds inbetween on adoff now its about to 2-5 seconds inbetween and fiddling with the light switch or turning the headlights on bright seems to have no erect on the time duration in which they flash on and off so Im guessing the problem isnt in the switch. Dose anyone have any idea what the prob may be?

How are the lights in your dash? Are they dimmer? Do you hear a small whine from under the hood? If so could be an Altenator

I had a similiar problem, try this maybe it will help.Remove headlight pull knob with a small straight slot screwdriver, remove the two screws from the gauge bezel, remove bezel and you will see the headlight switch.Remove the two bolts holding the switch, pull the switch and mounting block out and seperate the switch from the mounting block and inspect for any discoloration caused by excessive heat.I had to replace both switch and terminal mounting block to solve my problem.Hope this helps.

I would check all spliced connections from terminal, and seperate switch from terminal and inspect. There is significant amperage draw through switch causing heat buildup. My brown wire off terminal (ground wire?) was pretty crispy.

I know this sounds easy, but try turning the light knob to the left a little. That is the light dimmer.

LOL, believe it or not that solved the problem with the dimming light but I still have the issue with he flashing headlights if you wiggle the switch while suffering the problem it actually effects the lights but doesn't stop or help the prob

The light wiring blocks right behind the knob have always had problems in mustangs. Just go to Ford and get a replacement. The stock ones have a tendency to burn up for some reason. Good Luck
