Default Power Window Gears

I have a 1994 Convertible, and the back passenger side power window gets stuck in the down position. When I checked it out, I found that the gear that the motors gear turns to move the window up and down, had about 4 teeth worn down. The window works fine as long as you don't lower the window all the way so that the bad teeth get involved - they are at the very end of the gear. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for that gear, and how involved it is to switch it out?

Thanks,
Larry

Give www.mustangsunlimied.com a try (or a call - they have lots of old parts that are not listed on their site). Or www.50resto.com.

You might also get a new one from a Ford dealer. These things are usually not expensive.

A Ford Manual will have the directions for doing the swap, though I think the Haynes and C-manuals will not.

Thanks for the reply. The sites didn't have what I was looking for unless I buy the entire window regulator assembly. I did enjoy the sites though, and found some other things I was looking for.

If you call Mustangs Unlimited it will get you access to their used parts (and the many parts they have not listed on their web site).

Dealers may have that part as well, still new, sitting in their inventory.

Or junkyards. I love going to junkyards, but I always make sure I have a clear idea of the value of what I'm looking for FIRST.

I couldn't find just the sprocket I needed, but I was able to find the regulator assembly for a reasonable price at a junkyard. I've ordered the part, and will post again once it is installed.

Thanks!
