Default full v6 engine swap idk if its a 95 or 96

alright well i got an engine swap and now im very curious. my 96 v6 the engine i had before was a little quicker than the one i have now. i remember when the old v6 my third gear was pretty quick and my 4th was slow cause of the rev limiter. well no my third gear is extremely slow when steppn on it idk it may be the govenor cuz i i can barely go pass 100mph and my old one i easily got 120mph. my mechanic said its either a 1996 or a year down which will be 1995 which dissapoints me but is there any way i can find out for sure what exactly the year it is is there an imprint on the block sayn numbers or what not thanks let me knoww

Let us know what the numbers are and we can figure it out. If it is an "E7" it would be 1987, if it was an "F7" it would be a 1997, etc....

If you did an engine swap , why didn't you get a 99+ engine as it has almost 40 more horsepower
