It just happens that I may have some of the answers.
Shed weight:
1. 18's=gone. Save them for your street tires and pick up some 15" 94-98 tri-spoke rims or Welds. Put some 100 or less treadwear rating tires on the back to make sure you have proper grip. Keep the front tires as thin as possible for weight reasons.
2. Take everything not needed out of your car- yep, jack, spare, etc
3. Go to the track with less than 1/4 tank.
4. Rear seat delete.
5. Take off your front sway bar. Yep, it will help raise the front end and allow better weight transfer to the rear. If you don't want to take it out for daily driving purposes, just disconnect them from the bushings inside your fenderwell when you get to the track.
6. Get a tuner and dynotune. A good tuner will get every ounce of hp out of your car. You know when you've gone too far when bumping up the timing nets you only 1-2hp. That is the point where you back it off to the previous setting.
7. Make sure your car is in the best shape mechanically. Good wires, plugs, fuel filter, etc......
I have a million more, but that is a big piece of it. Mine runs 14.7 N/A before the nitrous without a bolt being turned on the motor or underdrivers.
