Default V6 swap to T-bird 232 Supercharged

I was thinking of swapping my 232 with 150000 miles on it, to a supercharged T-Bird 232 3.8L. Any thoughts?

What year do you have? If you have a 99+ don't bother. If you have a 94-98 then go for it. The swap is straight-forward and gives a nice jump in power compared to the stock single-port, also you would have a supercharged engine then and the gains from bolt-ons would be much higher.

You might as well get a rebuild kit for your current motor and then slap the supercharger onto that. You will have more success with the mustang 3.8 block and rotating assembly. I'm building my 3.8 into a 4.3 stroker with the M90.

I'm new here, but I'd like to jump back to the engine swap details for a second. I'm building a tube frame project car, based around the 1990 3.8l engine (non-supercharged) out of a T-bird. Were the engine mount locations for the V6's the same across a number of years? I want to put a later model 3.8l (from something like a 1999-2004 Mustang) in instead, with a T-5 transmission, but want to know if the engine mount locations were the same on the frame.

I figure this discussion about putting the SC engine into a mid-90's Mustang takes me at least part of the way, then I need to figure out if the mounts moved on the 1999+ cars.

Thanks,
Stephen

The motor mounts/K-member was changed for the 96 model year. The 94-95 V6's were used with the Kmember for the 5.0 while the 96+ V6 was used with the 4.6L. You can just switch the motor mounts from the different engines. I think I understood your question(it is late...). lol

I think that at least gets me part of the way. If I understand your answer correctly, the style of the mounts changed, but not necessarily their location in the frame? Ultimately, I think I'll probably end up going to a wreckers and measure up old vs. new, to make sure I'm getting accurate details, but figured for peace of mind, I'd try to figure out as much as I can ahead of time.

Thanks,
Stephen

LMAO. what kind of logic is that? the Supercoupe Block is much more stronger than the mustang's block lol. It's actually built to handle supercharging and the PSI's that are associated with it. Even the stock internals on the supercoupe are forged so you wouldn't even need the stroker kit/motor.

The motor mounts will take any 3.8 motor, there is no difference to bolting it in due to the block being exactly the same.

I love how we strayed away from my question ummm, ya ive done research and the super coupe block is definitely better and it is definitely easier to just swap the engine. what I want to know is what I'll need to swap the stock mustang motor with the super coupe. everything I've read has been in response to people asking about putting a supercharger on the mustang block. I need to know what to do in order to swap the stang block with the super coupe's.

and in response to cmaurer1's earlier post, the super coupe is still a single port I believe, correct?
