Red face 1984 Mustang Automatic Stalls in idle.

I have found that my EGR Valve is Broken (the metal nipple is broken inside the tube) I want to replace just that bit, but I can't get it off. I have removed the two Bolts but the mothertrucker won't move. Any suggestions.

Was yours attached with mounting bolts or stud nuts? If it's refusing to come off then that means the residue and other crap over the years mixed with the engine heat "cemented" it on. Get a can of carb cleaner or other type of solvent and spray around the seam of the EGR and let it sit for a min. You could also use PB Blaster or WD-40 if you have some on hand. Use a rubber or wooden mallet and gently knock it loose (I only recommended a hammer to help remove it because your replacing it with a new one)

Thumbs down Didn't work

OK so I replaced the EGR valve and the Exhaust Heat control valve (which no one has heard of) and still no go. It is still doing the same things as before. Stalls out when the engine temp gets to about 190-195. I can turn it back over but it won't stay on for long and the idle drops very quick. The more I do it the faster it stalls unless I can keep up the RPM's.
