Default 1995 V-6 Head Gasket Design Flaw Question

Hi, my 1995 V-6 Mustang Head Gasket Blew out on me at 96k miles, but luckily Ford covered most of my repairs. 67k miles later I learned I have another blown gasket, proven by an intense compression test (I was wondering where my anti-freeze was going since I had no radiator or hose leaks?).

Does anyone know which year Ford resolved this 3.8 V-6 design flaw/issue? I have the chance to buy a used ford 3.8 v-6 engine from a wreck with only 49k miles, but if it is a 94' or 95' I would be better off not, in fear of blowing another head gasket earlier than normal.

Also does anyone know if a post 1994 mustang v-8 can be placed in a 1995 mustang which previously had a 3.8 v-6 automatic (without too many alterations)?

Thanks for your help!

I, thankfully, haven't had a headgasket issue yet. My time is coming. When I do I'm putting Fel-Pro gaskets in. My grandmother blew a hg in her Thunderbird at 150,000 miles. She has 300,000 on it now with no problems. I just think they are a little better than the stock ones imo.

The head gasket problems were a design flaw in the rear cylinders of the head in the 94-97's.......
