Default 2002 Engine Noise Question

Hey everyone. I'm new to these forums. Anyhow, I had a quick question about a noise I hear when I start my Mustang. Shortly after it starts a very audible fan-hitting-paper noise comes up and it slowly dwindles while the car is in park. Once i put it into drive though the noise will disappear even quicker. Does anyone know what this noise is and how i can go about getting rid of it? or is it pretty much normal? Thanks

I think you might have and issue with insufficient battery voltage/amperage which results in not enough cranking power. Check your battery cables and make sure they're clean of all corrosion (pepsi works great for removing corrosion) and have a good connection to connectors and the battery. Check the ground cable running from the (-) on your battery to the engine block as well. If it's neither of those, have your battery tested. If everything checks out ok then your starter solenoid switch is starting to go bad.
