Unhappy EGR VALVE....cuz its a Ford of course.

I've had many Fords in the past...and they were all high mileage and had EGR valve problems. Well...my 2001 V6 Mustang 5-speed now has 121XXX miles in which I have put all of them on it since 2004 when I bought the car with 29XXX miles on it. Its been having A LOT of problems lately...bless her heart...
#1 my husband took her to the car wash and washed the motor....so plugs started fowling....so we replaced all the plugs and wires
#2 still has MAJOR hesitation.....had an exhaust leak welded
#3 STILL has hesitation....AND the Service Engine Soon light came on...took it to Autozone...EGR valve problem.
#4 BATTERY went Completely dead! So i bought a new one and hoped that the light might go off...no such luck
#5 so I went and bought a EGR valve from my buddy at the salvage yard....BUT I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT GOES!!!!!

CAN ANYONE HELP ME????

And can you warn me of any other problems that I have to look foward to over the next year????? She only has 2 last 1 more year!!!

The EGR is located on the front of the engine slightly to right center. Follow the metal tube up from your passenger's side exhaust to a sensor. Follow the sensor to the EGR.

EGR codes can be thrown for many reasons. What was the exact code?

I have no idea....they said that it was showing that the EGR valve had an obstruction...and I'm wondering if that don't have something to do with hosing down my motor....thats when all the major things started!!
