Default Spark Plugs

I was just wondering what the best plug to run in my 06 v6. I have used the Bosch platinum plus 4 in other vehicles I have had and have had good luck with them, what would this do to my v6?

Ok nevermind. I just found the thread at the bottom of the page that answered my question. Guess I should search before posting lol.

I just wanted to post this as when I was searching, I didn't really see any definitive answers on the Bosch +4 plugs.

I (and the Mustang) HATE these plugs!! I had a slight hesitation so I changed plugs with the Bosch +4 iridiums.. the hesitation got A LOT worse. I went back to the store, bought the Autolite double platinums and she purrrs...

There's no magic in a spark plug. Multiple prongs, unobtanium electrodes, etc. Not going to get any more performance or efficiency just by changing plug types.

The only advantage to a platinum or iridium coated electrode is that it will last longer. Every spark the plug makes takes off a few molecules. More from a standard electrode, less from the fancy ones.

A lot of people have reported poor performance with iridium and platinum plugs, from old Harleys to new Mustangs. I use a plain jane copper electrode Autolite in everything. I need to replace them every 40K or so. But they're less than $2 each.

My track car eats about 3-4 sets a year. No way I'm going to pay $10 each for a plug!

Like .boB said, different materials on spark plugs don't do a whole lot except change your replacement time.
However, I have to add that (I think) more prongs will give a more consistent spark: i.e. you are always going to ignite since it increases your chances of creating a spark. But that's just my opinion...
But the only real advantage to changing spark plugs (other than routine maintanence) is if you add a blower and you need to change the "heat" range of your plugs, usually cooler. I don't know much about this, but I'm sure there's info out there.
BTW, I have the Bosch Platinum +4 and haven't had any problems. At the same time, there was no performance improvement; just slight improvements due to replacing the plugs that would've occurred with any new plug.
