I think your problem may involve more than a window adjustment.
If the car has been in an accident, the unibody may be slightly distorted and causing this problem. Modifying the window mechanism (no fine-turning I can think of, though changing the lifting arm would theoretically alter its range of travel) won't fix this.
It's also possible that the rubber weather stripping is worn or damaged and needs replacement.
I frankly don't think your problem can be fixed with a window adjustment - its possible you have something worn out in the window lift mechanism that needs replacement, of course.
This is a hard one to diagnose long distance.

I have to leave the windows just cracked enough to allow the doors to close without the glass hitting the weatherstripping. Is there a way to adjust the door glass? Do you have to remove the door panel or is there an access plug? I would like to try and fix this problem myself before taking it to the local Ford dealership. Any advice is much appreciated. |
