I just got a 2004 Mustang convertible. The top is tan color vinyl. It looks as though Mr. Ford painted a black canvas top with a vinyl coating and the coating is wearing off. I'm looking for a way to restore the tan color and cover up the black. Most Vinyl paint or sprays I have found are for interior use only.

The top is in otherwise excellent condition.

I know that when we did my friends convert firebird, we just went to the local hardware store and got some external vinyl dip (it came as a powder that we had to mix, then spray, but they had everything there), and it came out really nice, but faded pretty quick over the years...
