1995 mustang 3.8L running hot, I need some assistance
hello i just bought a 1995 mustang 3.8L and i just replaced the head gaskets and it is still running hot....(so the gauge says any way) does any one have any info. also in the cluster planel it says i have no oil pressure. any thing on this. thanks
well, for the cooling problem, check your thermostat and make sure your drive belt is not slipping. as for the oil press, if you have a diablosport, you can use it to check your oil pressure, and if you have a normal reading, then your gauge is faulty.

i put in a new thermostat and i dont have a diablosport
check the weephole on your water pump (you might need a mirror to get a real good look), if it has a lot of corrosion around it, then the impellor on the pump is eroding away and not flowing coolant as well as it should

ok, so you replaced the head gaskets but did you send the heads out to a machine shop to have the decks checked for warpage
yea, listen to what SVT said, theres a special funnel you can buy, its like 20 bucks, use it to fill your radiator and it will remove any air pockets, turn your heater on while you use it. the funnel is called a "spill-free" funnel, it has an attachment that looks like a radiator cap at the end of it.you can probably find one at an AutoZone or something.
This particular engine requires the bleed be open while filling the system.Engine off..add to your coolant bottle and watch it as it warms...Radiator cap must be on while running...I had this same issue the third day i owned mine.. Ground your sending unit wire to the block with key on...if the gauge rises, the sender is faulty, if not the gauge is faulty..It's located behind the oil pump housing.
