94 V6 Transmission Interchange

I have a 94 mustang 3.8l v6. A couple of years ago, I dumped the 94 engine for a 97 to avoid the infamous head problems. It was a pretty easy swap even for a nonmechanic like me. My problem now is - my transmission is going out. What year transmission will interchange with the 94 with a 97 engine?

Any help would be appreciated.

1994 - 1998 are your compatibility years.
