Default 2000 engine in a 1998, worth doing it?

I can get a 1998 mustang for $1200 v6 5spd, blown head gaskets, and a 2000 wrecked, with good v6 for about the same. would it be worth buying and swapping the engine? How much "other stuff" would need to be swapped? I would be doing the work, I'm new to mustangs, but have done engine swaps before. THANKS

What kind of condition is the 2000 v6 motor? As far as I know it should be pretty much a straight swap, with the exception of a few minor things. The K-member, tranny, bellhousing, and rear end are all the same.

2000 motor is OK 100k on it. I thought I read that the fuel systems changed from 1998 to 1999. Is that right?

went from singleport to sliport heads and intakes. and some other stuff.

but to answer your question yes it would be worth it. You would have 190hp instead of 160hp. 2000 engine will dyno stock at 155-160rwhp on a stick. Bolt-ons will get a 2000 motor to almost 200rwhp.
