I've been doing some research and I have a few questions that the internet hasn't answered for me yet.
Should I get an SCT chip or Diablo chip?
How much HP can I get before I have to put a new rearend on it?
How much HP do performance headers add?
How much HP will true dual exhaust really add?
I've been doing some research and I have a few questions that the internet hasn't answered for me yet.
Should I get an SCT chip or Diablo chip? They are not Chips anymore, but programmers. Both will do what you want, but there is more support in the custom tuning market for the SCT. For this reason, I prefer SCT and so will you once you start adding things oyu want and step outside of a package.
How much HP can I get before I have to put a new rearend on it? Unless you are going Nitrous, Turbo, or Supercharger... don't worry about this. Unless you are asking about gears,in which case shanging to a 3.73 or 4.10 gear after getting a tune is one of the best mods out there.
How much HP do performance headers add? Depends on shorty or Long Tube. Shorty's are almost not worth the effort. you can get the same power from other mods, and Long Tubes, if they are available for the 4.0, will make a difference, but here again its a lot of work.
How much HP will true dual exhaust really add? This depends on the set up of the rest of your car. In stock form not much more, if any, than a good free flowing single exit. If you get into things mentioned above, each step of the way a true dual set up will help out a bit more with each mod.
I would start small, Intake and tune, and see how you like the added power. Then think about what you want your car to be, the plan a mod list around it.
