Default 600 watt amp powering 1000 watt subs.

I got a sony xplod 600 watt amp and Alpine type Rs 10 inch subs.
Is there going to be any problem powering the subs? Would I need to buy a capacitor or will the batter be strong enough to power everything and not drain out.
Thanks

How much are your subwoofers putting out rms? I assume 1000 watts is peak power.

Are your lights flickering when they hit? If they do then maybe invest in a cap. I just did a set up for a friend of mine. Custom box with 2 10" subwoofers (Soundstream T4's 800 rms each) He has a 1500D amp to power them and it sounds great. Needs some dynamat though lol. Here is the thread with pics.

yo that looks real nice fobra...
wat kind of amp r u using for that? cuz i went to bestbuy to buy a wire kit and they said theres no way my 600w xplod is goin to power the 2 10 inch alpine type R subs. I guess i need to get an amp that will be both powerful enough to power the subs without gettin fried and give no damage to the battery or alternator

I have a Soundstream Picasso Class D Mono Amp that powers 2000 watts. It's a great amp and powered both of my T-4's (2000 peak watts each) with just a tiny bit of power. I'm selling parts of my system now because I'm over the sound system thing. I wanna go fast

Yeah, I had a 20-Farad Capacitor also from Soundstream just to be on the safe side. Pretty much my whole set-up was from Soundstream.

A 5 farad will do just fine. Just be sure that you get an amp that putts out a good amount of watts to power your subwoofer's rms watt power.
