Default Traction Control Problems in 2004 Mustang

I just recently put 225/60 16 tires on the front and I have 225/55 16 on the rear. The traction control comes on for no reason at 70 mph. Does the difference in tire size cause this to occur?

Does it pull you to a certain side when this occurs?

I would say you have a wheel speed sensor issue, but that minute difference in tire size should not be the problem.

The traction control is also tied in with the ABS module on the 99-04's my car's ABS and TCS lights are lit...I have not taken it in to have looked at since the ABS still works...the TCS does not so I have to be careful when it rains....The ABS sensors are on all 4 tires so the wheel speed difference is throwing it off...The computer is telling you the wheels are mivng at fdifferent speeds....if the TCS and ABS still work don't worry too much about it....

+1 handyman......

The different size tires are giving the computer different speeds, thus activating the TC and ABS. It should be applying your brakes through the TC.....

I find it nearly impossible to believe that the difference in the sizes of those tires is enough to throw off the computer. I fully understand what the ABS/TC systems do and how important it is for everything to be the same, but there is a small % of give in the wheel speeds.
