Default noise in bell housing

My 96 3.8L 5speed whenever you turn it on there is this loud hollow ticking sound that sounds like it is coming from the bellhousing so i replaced the trowout bearing, pressure plate, and clutch. put everything back together and it sill makes this loud noise. It even makes it when the clutch is pressed in. if you have any ideas about what it might be let me know this car is my first car and my baby haha

Did you replace the pilot bearing too? How much play was there in the input shaft on the tranny?

My car makes noise in the bell housing too, the car has a new clutch and throw out bearing, but the pressure plate is not new. Mine would rattle sometimes when the car was in neutral so i got up under to see what the problem was, I took of the plate that covers the throw out bearing arm and noticed that when i held the arm up it would stop rattling. So, i put a spacer on the metal plate that would hold the arm up and give it something to rest on, i assumed that the arm was worn out. I did take out the pilot bearing when i put the new throw out bearing in and didn't think it was bad, but then again I've never had a good and bad pilot bearing to compare so i would be talking ignorant to say that it was good or bad

Pilot bearing will make noise as well as a vibration in your shifter. I've heard bad pilot bearings and they sound kind of like he described. I always change my pilot bearing as well as the rear main seal. It just makes sense so you don't have to drop everything again. Total cost is around $20.00 for both. Most clutch kits come with the pilot bearing.....
