Default Exhaust Leak of Doom

My Car has the ultimate exhaust leak on the passenger side, so bad that most people cant tell the car is a v6 but thinks its and old redneck truck with some straight-piped big block engine. Anyway the main problem i have with this is that i think its causing the rpm's to hand in my car when ever push my clutch in sometimes the car will either rev itself up, or not drop rpms at all. I think this is a result of the car not haveing enough back pressure on the passenger side. The Exhaust leak is wear my pipes connect to my stock header. The leak happened because when i hade to take out my tranny and gut my cats becasue they where stopped, the bolts that hold the pipes on where stripped out and i got to spend all day with a dremmel tool cutting my pipes off ( This sucked really bad). Does anyone think that the Hanging RPM's could be related the the 2+ inch gap in between my header and pipes

Damn Dude...... A 2" gap? I think I would start over again and replace everything. If you want to go with performance down the road, get Pacesetter LT's if you don't have emissions. They are only $179.00 from Jegs. I have them, and they work well for me at the track with the '01......

The gap is at least 2'', but im planning on getting some headers when i get some more cash, Im pretty sure that hte leak is the problem for the rpm hang because it didn't do it before it was there and i rebuilt the engine so i know everything els eis clean, However i also have noticed that when i have a passenger who insists on the a/c being on that the Service Engine Soon Light comes on and the car drives like crap untill i drive without the a/c for a while

If you use the defroster, you are using the AC compressor........
