Default need some egr help

ok so my check engine light came on a while back so I brought it to auto zone and they said I need a new egr so I bought a new one from them and I put it on my self and they told me the computer has to reset it's self and that it can take up to 200 miles so I waited and waited but the light not turn off so I brought it to a friend who has that computer reader thing and it now says egr insignificant flow and my friend told me it was b/c I didn't put any gasket sealer on could that be it or something else any help would be great thx

It could be that it isn't sealed or a vacuum leak leading to it, I would pull it out and look into the port under the valve and make sure it isn't clogged and then seal it up, but it should be something simple like a vacuum leak.

What was the previous code from Autozone? You could have some vac leaks like racin' said, or it could be the DPFE.....
