Default 1998 V6 Ehaust Questions

Hi, I have a 1998 V6 and would like some help finding a better exhaust system. I'm not exactly sure what to look for, but I'd like a nice deep sound. Any Suggestions? Thanks.

yea this is a good question... the v6 is hard to make sound good but it can be done obviously its not going to sound like a v8... it has its own sound... i have true duals with some flowmaster delta 40's and 3inch tips... its loud enough and sounds mean... if im racing it i shift at about 5k rpm because my engine has 130k miles dont want to be mean to it lol... but the interior of the car rattles ... its plenty loud like i said though the v6 has its own sound... for a personal preference the v6 does not need a mid pipe its well balanced already. but i think... the mid pipe makes the car sound bad it sounds like a boat... kinda

You won't get a loud and deep tone from a v6, however you can get a pretty nasty and aggressive growl out of it. I have duals with Pypes violators and an H-pipe. I love the sound of mine, but of course, i am biased. A lot of people have Flowmasters, some like them, some don't. I cannot personally say they sound good or bad, but everyone has them. If you go to AmericanMuscle, they have a thing about converting to dual exhaust. Here is the link

Hope that helps some!

go to a local exhaust shop and see what they say ask what they would charge to do the set up and then see if you can buy the parts on the internet...

My buddy has an 00 V6 anniversary. He has x pipe with GT tips on it and it sounds pretty mean for a V6 at idle. when he gets on it it sounds a little different but better than other V6 Stangs around.

He also changes his exhaust setup about every 3 moths. His most recent exhaust setup was dual with h pipe, back to GT tips. It doesn't sound as good as his original did. I can't remember what brands he went with for exhaust, btu the x pipe to GT ti[s sounded best to me.
