Default New member! 1996 Mustang wont start!

Hi all,

Ive been a Mustang owner for only a month now and have enjoyed every second of it.

However, this morning it wouldnt start... not even a tiny sign of life. Just totally dead.
Obviously, I thought it must be a battery problem but after checking the battery, its fine and dandy.

I ended up calling out a mobile mechanic and he seems to think it is perhaps the starter motor.

Problem is he, like I, havent got a clue where to source cheap replacement parts that would be quick to arrive, or even be able to pick up.

I use the car as my daily drive so cant get to work at mo!

Any ideas on what the problem may be? Is this a common problem? Any ideas about spare parts?

1996 3.8 V6

autozone. if there are no signs of life it could be the starter relay also. i would check that first bc its much cheaper than a starter good luck

Ahhh, now thats what I thought could be the problem. Some sort of security immobiliser.... though I didnt think mine came with one.
It is simply opened, closed and started by a key.

Its a japanese import. Not sure how most things work as the manual is in japanese too!

also just another suggestion make sure it is in park. if its still in drive or reverse it would do the same thing. i know this sounds stupid but its a little thing that is easily looked over

check your starter relay, if your starter was bad you wouldnt crank but you would have power. Your battery can be tricky. I would check all fuses and your starter relay. If you have good fuses and still no power then its definatley the relay.
