I've been recently searching for 8.8" rear ends for my V6, and since I don't want to pay $750.00 for a 99-04 GT from ebay, I found a guy in the LA area selling a rear end for $400.00.

The thing is, it's from a Crown Victoria. Here's what the seller describes:

"8.8 rear end from Crown Vic with disc brakes and calipers and 3.27 ratio complete with rear sway bar. Ready to bolt in. , $400 OBO"

Nothing about the year, or what other Ford models can use this part. I sent him a message asking him some questions regarding the part. But he hasn't got back to me yet.

I would like to know from AFM, is this a good price? I've done some research on the rear end, and found that it could fit after some fabrication done to the chassis because the Mustang and Crown Vic are totally different.

Any suggestions will help. Thanks in advance.

The Crown Vic rear end is longer than ours. Yeah, $400.00 is not considered cheap when you have to pay shipping. Heck, I could find you one around here for about $200.00 or so. You would also have to use the calipers and rotors off the Vic. because they are bigger.....

Keep looking I have found three in my area for $200 or less. They are all off of 94+ Mustangs and they are all 3.73's. Look around on craigslist. I like craigslist more than ebay anyway.
