i have a 2003 v6 and want more power. I have a cold air intake and dual flowmaster straight pipes. What can i do to get more power without spending alot of money? Is there anything i can do to make it luder?
There are a few directions in which to take right now. You can either go with engine or drivetrain. The engine mods can be a Windstar intake and UDP's, or the drivetrain could be gears and a t-lock.
Either way, I would suggest getting a tuner for all future mods.......
A tuner is a tuner.......SCT and Diablosport are the most known. I have both, and the SCT is easier to use, but I can change things on a smaller scale with the Daiblosport.......
Please tell me "shinerstang" what did I ever say in this thread that would make you think I have no knowledge about a v6?
It wasn't you SVT it was the other two guys. Sleeper and Phil95. We often have this problem of people coming over here and giving bad advice. Like go out and get an aftermarket intake. There are no aftermarket intakes! It is all custom work. It often comes down to telling a kid to buy something he is not going to need, or that does not add that much if any hp gain. Most of the people here are young, and they have no money, so we try to give them advice that will go a long way.

I didnt mean to come off as a a-hole in the last post. I didnt mean it in any way what so ever.
I to have seen that from time to time where someone has said to get something that will never work. Or do what the other guy is looking for. It's always nice to get some options. I along with many people here and I'm sure along with your self do our home work before just buying a part because of what someone said here.
On the down side I'm sure there's a few that jump right in and get it because of what "jim the online man" said it would work!
Bottom line read up on it before buying!

shop by me that works on 6CYL camaros, and Stangs, and chargers, rangers, and SHO's. They specialize in american 6cyls
LT header with optimal conditions you will gain around 10 -15 RWHP.
Shorties around 5 - 10RWHP..
of course are both with an H pipe setup with 2.5" piping, stock cats, and flow master 44's. This is the quote they gave me after a proper tune.
save your money...get a SC and a tuner after you save up...seen cars with inexpensive SC set ups that are well worth it... Do not spend your money just yet

When you own a V6 stang 3.8, 3.9, or 4.2 stroker, You're part of something different. You don't rely on a V8 to do your driving. Instead you learn the V6. You tune and tweak until you see GT's falling behind you. Then when they ask "Is that a V8?" You simply respond with a rev that clearly states "I'm a V6" with a proud smile on your face. As your girlfriend sitting on the seat next to you calls you an idiot.
Exactly. It would appear that the gains are coupled together with a dual exhaust system. Either way, replacing your stock headers with shorties is a waste of money. Your stock headers are good enough until you really start modding......

I agree SVT...... My advice is only from what I know that works and what doesn't. I've been here modding my 2 and my Son's car for a long time. I've tried everything from experimenting to actual track time fine tuning what I have done. But, I still try to give these kids solid advice because I have saved them alot of money and time doing things that actually make sense. We all don't have a ton of cash to just throw away on needless things.......
