I recently bought my daughter a beautiful 99 Mustang. It had 150k miles but the motor purrs like a kitten and only previous owner had all service records. She was well cared for.
However, last week the Transmission died. It has a Service engine soon light on and an "auto O/D" light on. It will not go in any gear.
Couple questions?
Is it probably really dead or is it maybe just electrical?
What model number is it? i.e. 4r70w?
Could a novice rebuild it or would it be something only an experienced trans. mechanic should do?
My budget is extremely tight but my daughter really needs her car, she is in college 140 miles from home.

well first off it could be any matter of things im sure....

but if she needs it and i mean NEEDS then i wouldnt do the work yourself

get it done professionally that way its warrantied for at least a little while and she gets her car ASAP and just try to work out something with the installer i know my dads repair shop always tries to lend a helping hand, im sure you can work out some sort of payment plan or deal
